That they do. Almost all Mantis species will try to get as high as possible to get the best vantage point to watch for food or predators, and to sun themselves. They also like to go towards light, and like to hang upside down as well. They like hanging upside down because it allows them to ambush prey from above, and when they're eating they don't have to worry about scraps falling all over thier perch. It also makes shedding easier because gravity helps them slip out of thier old skins better.

So smart. Good info. How long do you think it will be before the babys start to eat eachother? I have about 200 of them they are all 3 days old.
