Derek,
Have they bred for you yet?

I set this up before I left for an environmental contest in West Virginia, and have jsut got back. I need to get some airhose, run it around the top of the tank and hook it up to a small pump. Then we'll see. The males do call now.

Good luck with them Derek, I certainly hope they do breed for you. There are many many beautiful species of reed frogs with an incredible array of variation even within the same species. I am working with Hyla leucophyllata and have 6 baby red-eyes now. I used to keep 4 red-eyes years ago before I knew about rain chambers and the male would always go in and out of amplexus with the largest female. Never got eggs of course with my normal land set-up, but I had them for about 2 or 3 years before I sold them to someone aspiring to breed them. I don't know how they made out however.

Cool, H. leucophylatta is a very nice looking frog. I used to keep a few red-eyes years back and sold them and enver got back into them, althogh I'd like to acquire some different color morphs. Check out my web site and shoot me an e-mail or something. Thanks

When I say simple, I mean simple. Single fluorescent bulb/fixture, pothos, and siran (sp?) wrap over the screen.
