irwin and krayola are close to the same length, but irwin is far more bigger and "monster" like. huge dewlap, nice long spikes, bigger, meaner appearance. krayola is long, but slender, slightly mean looking. so hopefully as he grows he might just look like irwin ;)

Thank God 38 inches nose to tail (so 2 inches over 3 feet) and not just his body length....man, I'd be in trouble space wise if he was 38 inches not including his tail!!!! :)

Well he was always pretty stocky, but pretty proportionate to his length. Your Krayola will get there! Just hang in there. As you could see from the earlier pics of Irwin, he didn't always have that huge dewlap and long spikes. They kept developing as he grew. It could be that Irwin has hit sexual maturity as he is also getting a tint of orange to his skin. I'm gonna look on the internet to see at what age iggys reach sexual maturity and then I'll post it on here. I'm sure there are others on this forum that already know without looking it up...but I'm not quite sure...I'll be back in a few...

Here's some stuff I found:
Age-wise an iguana typically reaches sexual maturity by 2 years. Size, however, rather than age is the true measure of sexual maturity. A snout to vent length of six inches in a male and 10 inches in a female makes them big enough to start cycling.

holy cow! I would be very careful with him. Males can be quite agressive, and a lizard of that size could do some serious damage... gorgeous though!

Yeah, I watch very close for any weird behavior before I stick my hand into his cage. He's pretty docile though. He used to be a little jerk though when he was younger. He used to always tail whip and bite!
As for what kind he is...I'm not quite sure because my brother bought him. I kind of "inherited" him after my brother had to go to China for a year. When he got back from China he could no longer keep him because he didn't have the space or money.

iggy_boy...
My guess would be about 1 year or so. But, size can be affected by diet, so if he isn't getting or hasn't gotten a very good diet he may be smaller than what he should be. I found this growth chart that you might be interested in...

Iggy boy...I would still guess him to be about a year old. He's probably under a year, but not by much.
