Very pretty snake. How much did you pay for it. I was wanting to breed my normal female ball pyhton to a pied and see what colors I can get. Let me know so I know what price is to high for a pied. I know that the price is high but I willing to buy one under $100.00. Thanks reptile_gal.

Pieds cost anywhere from $7000 and up. If you bred a pied to a normal, you would get all normal looking offspring 100% het for pied. If you are only willing to to spend $100, get a normal male. Plus, you might need to do a little more research on these animals, all the morphs and genetics before you start breeding and investing in morphs....

Awesome pied, btw....

Thanks josh and reptile gal.
reptile gal, unfortunately $100 doesn't go far when your dealing with ball python morphs. lately female nomals are going in that price range.

Hmm, i thought that if you breed a pied to a normal you would get 25% pied 25% normal and 50% 100%het. umm im pretty sure is this way...

Nope Nerve. I am positive that a pied bred to a normal, will yield all normal looking offspring 100% het. pied. Also, there is no such thing as 50% 100% het....

Yes, there are 100%, 66%, and 50% hets. But no 50% 100% hets. They would just be called 50% hets in that case...

Ohh i see, so % means the possibility of getting a het??

Exactly NeRve. Except with pieds it gets a little more complicated because in some of the lines some of the hets (but not all) tend to have a white belly with dark black lines at the edge. Some for sure hets don't have this marker but you could use it to pick a on paper possible het male for cheap that would almost surely be a het. So breed this male to a normal female and keep the marker daughters and eventually produce a pied starting with a $100 investment.
