I have found several of these around my house. they are very fast and rear to display fangs when confronted. This specimen measures approx. 3 inches across legs and 1 inch across body. While i love spiders around my house (no mospuitos) i'm afraid this one may be dangerous. I have more pics but they exceed size limit. please comment

I should clarify aggressive - most of the specimens I have encountered run - maybe they felt cornered (they weren't but nature is funny that way) or something but on a couple of occasions they have held there ground and reared up instead of running.

I live in Fort Detrick Maryland, and I am anxiously waiting the "reveal" of what your spider is. Can you tell me if is occompanied by a "funnel web" and a larger, fat spider...????
BOth of my children have been bitten, hospitalized and suffered deep puncture wounds from a spider that, I swear looks exactly like this??????
I thought mine was a HOBO , but not sure. I have sent the spider in question to U of Md, dept of Entomology for investigation. They are very aggressive, only infested right along my side of our culdesac outside, with funnel web and hide in the funnel to appear at night. I am very worried about this. Anyone with info, please respond, been told that they are not supposed to be here in Maryland. ty
