My girlfriend's daughter looking at my Bullsnake. Proud to say that she now loves snakes as much as I do!

Yeah, at first she would not even go in the same room with them. Now she wants to hold them all, and every time I get on the computer she says "I want to look at snakes!". Glad she won't grow up to be a mindless snake killer. :-)

My dad was the one who got me into snakes by bringing me green snakes to play with when I was a little girl. I've since become a crusader for all serpents. It's great to see other people helping girls overcome the things they're stereotypically supposed to hate and fear. I plan to someday be the mom who brings in the giant pythons for her kids' show-and-tell.

Go for it curaniel! That would definitely make you the most popular mom... with the kids anyway. :-) Plus you can do some re-education and maybe save some herps from unwarranted demise. As for the bullsnake, he is awesome. He definitely does not live up to his defensive reputation. Never even hissed at me. I highly recommend one!

I got it at a local pet store here in Corpus Christi, TX. It's called Pampered Pets. I'm actually in the process of designing their website right now, so I can check and see if they have more. It's the only place I've ever seen them.

I guess I am the only girl in my country(malaysia) is having a snake as a pet. All my friends having bad perceptions on snakes and i am trying my best to educate them. Sometimes, when they give me bad comments and critizising me..i feel like crying :(
I wonder how could i really make them accept that "snakes are not as bad as they think". I even try to let them touch my King, but....*sigh*

For some reason, fear of snakes just seems to be inborn. My girlfriend's daughter would not even go in the same room with my snakes at first, even though she adored lizards and turtles. I think it has something to do with no legs, unblinking eyes, and lack of facial expressions. It just freaks people out. And I honestly think people have to get over the fear early in life. For those who don't get over it, don't let their comments get you down. There's a whole community here that will defend your sanity and open-mindedness. :-)

yeah, I've always loved snakes myself. It's funny, as a little girl, I loved snakes, and my mother would always (practically) pee herself seeing me holding a garter... I only have a Hondoran Milk now, soon to be more. My 6 yr old daughter LOOOOVVEESSS all kinds of reptiles. She wants a Ball. Christmas is coming soon!
