My CA Red-Sided Garter Snake

Beautiful it is, those are one of my favorite snakes, back in the late 60's when I was a kid we use to go to a place on the Eel River in Mendocino County, those were all over the place, I'd catch about 100 of them in a weeks time, caught one huge adult with the biggest, brightest red head and markings you could ever see.Love em!

OMG how wierd! I live in Ukiah, which is part of Mendocino County. Although this was nto caught in the Eel River, it was caught a bit near the Eel River. lol Yup This is'nt one of the brightst i've seen but when I wa slittle I use to see soem pretty beautiful ones!

Well that's cool, it's a small world, I loved those camping trips to Mendocino Co. when I was a kid,must be a great place to live. I did all my Red Sided Garter catching up north of Ukiah right around Leggitt. Enjoy your'e little beauty :)

Hey talkinghead, do you still have any red-sideds, or go near any places where you would find any? I'm looking to find more, but everytime i've looked lately, i've found nothing!
