It all depends on the age/size of the beardie on whether a hide is needed. younger/smaller beardies tend to stay in the hide rather then bask which can lead to digestion and eating problems(or thats what I've experienced).And even when there adults they dont "need" a hide. Oh by the way, nice pic!
