Current contents: 50 rats, 50 chicks, close to 100 mice, 4 pounds of turkey diet, and a pound of raw shrimp. The mice are for my 20 snakes. The rest is for my Savannah monitor, Tigger.
The mice get soaked in warm water until they are thawed completely and are warm to the touch. The rats & chicks get thawed at room temp for many hours until they are completely thawed, then get soaked in warm water just to warm them up.

or another good trick is to put and tie a mouse/rat/chick up into a bag and place onto a heatmat to thaw them out for a few hours it also makes them smell very bad, but is good to atrack the predator to them (my snakes love them that way) :-)

Lyn, What kind of snakes do you have besides your hog nosed snake, carpet python, sand boa, and your water snake?

I have 5 snakes currently. The Banded Water Snake is still with his current owner, he's promised to me but I don't have him yet. I have "Bear" the Carpet Python (he gives great Bear Hugs), "Wilbur" the Malagassy Hog Nose (named because he is a HOG nose), "Pumpkin" the Everglades/Yellow Rat Snake (he's orange), "Fang" the Russian Sand Boa (named after Hagrids dog), and "Mysty" the Normal Cornsnake (short for Mystery which was her name when I got her). Pics of all of them are on my website www.LynsLair.com, I use this Kingsnake Album just for pics that don't really fit anywhere on my site.

OK Do you feed Bear the chicks since you don't have Tigger anymore?

I don't want to sound rude but why does it say " the mice are for my 20 snakes" and you said you only have 4 currently?

This photo was posted over 2 years ago, and the description for it fit the collection I had back in January of 2002. My collection has shrunk since then. I had a large group of snakes as I had planned to be a "big time" breeder, but have since changed my plans and instead of 20 snakes in rubbermaid tubs I now have just 5 snakes in large naturalistic enclosures. The frozen animals in this photo are long gone, the freezer now contains about 40 rats and 20 mice, no chicks at this time although my Rat Snake was fed chicks in the past and I'm sure my Carpet Python would eat them, so I might have to order some so they can have a little variety.

It's me, Lyn, my new username is SlytherinSerpent. I posted this picture several years ago and really need to take a new one, it's still just as full though LOL. I divorced my non animal loving husband and now have a terrific collection and have even started breeding. My new website is www.SlytherinSerpents.com (still in the works). I'm an HP fan too, hence the name. My collection now is 31 Snakes, 15 Leopard Geckos, 2 Gargoyle Geckos, 6 Crested Geckos, and 2 mud turtles. Non reptiles include a Poodle mix, a Guinea Pig, 5 birds, 7 pond size Commets, and several tropical fish. This freezer now contains only mice. Seven sizes from X Large adults to day old pinks. Approx 900 mice total. (Gotta fill that box whenever you order from Rodentpro to get your money's worth on shipping!!) This past October (2006) on Friday the 13th in the middle of a huge storm which knocked out my power for a week, I had my first ever snake eggs hatch, two adorable Cali Kings. I'm HOOKED. I also hatched 2 super cute Cresteds and 3 Leos. This year I plan to breed Cali Kings, Corns, Bulls, Russian Sand Boas, Leos, and Cresteds. Also hoping to get a mate for my Mexican Hoggie.
