Star Tortoise

very nice... im thinking of gtting my first tortoise, maybe you could give me some ideas on the species and the difficulty levels? i love the way the start tortoises look, how big do they get and how big of an enclosure does it need? thanks.

I would suggest a Redfoot tortoise. Easy to care for, feed and really friendly. Star tortoises also cost several times more than redfoots!

Hi that's a very nice Star.
I'm thinking to get one, but confused to get a Male or Female. Is there any difference in Personality or maybe the Shell bump?
Please let me know.

No difference Alphaeus.. that I know of.. unless you want to get into breeding.. which is another story.

The 'bumps' are caused by the lack of humidity in 'humid hide' and diet.. which also varies from one tortoise to another. All 5 were raised under identical conditions!
