Did you stretch your ears all the way up to 1&1/2" or did you have any scalpelling done? I've gotten mine up to 3/4" but I'm afraid to go much bigger due to thinning.

I pierced them at 14g and have been stretching them for around 7 years. No blades on my ears. A little trick of the trade is to down size and up size. If your at 3/4", take them out, and leave them out for like a week. Then put 1/2" plugs in. Then slowly stretch back to 3/4". That method builds scar tissue, which builds more flesh.

Personally I'm not much for piercings. I read the long responses to your hanging post. It's different. I'm curious..did you lose any feeling or sense of taste from the front of your tongue? Was any piece removed to make the split? What is the procedure. I'm not interested in having it done, just a little education into something I know nothing about.

Your tast buds regrow every 7 days. So after the split, they just grow back. No piece is removed, just a straight line is cut. The process is just a scalpel and a blow torch. you heat the scalpel in the blow torch and make a cut (usually 3 cuts, 4 max). The heat cautorizes the wound instantly so you don't bleed. After that (about 10 minutes) you just spread it constantly to make sure during healing that it doesn't reattatch. A little regrowth is normal, I had about a 1/4" grow up. But mine is only half split anyways, going to split it more sometime soon. Anyways, healing is 4-6 weeks. 2 weeks of discomfort. No speech affects at all, 99% of people I talk to never notice it's done. And based on personal anatomy, most people can control both halves seperately. If you can roll your tongue in half, then you should be able to move both halves (rule of thumb). I think the most interesting thing about it is how EASY it is to do, and how minimal the pain actually is. Hoped that answered your questions.

Labret is almost painless. Nipples hurt like crap. Cutting your tongue web is VERY EASY and doesn't hurt much. But as for the gene simmons tongue, that depends on anatomy, hope that helps.

I only have 1 piercing. My 14g Bridge. Everything else is heavily modified. And I don't plan on getting any more. I don't collect, I have a final image in mind of how I want to look.
