Well first a hello from a fellow canuck. But when i was breeding my own mealworms i found that a dry base of rolled oats and bran about 3/4-1" deep with egg carton chunks and paper rolls did the trick. I started with a colony of about 1000 worms and allowed them all to mature and after that i had a steady supply for months on end which helped feed my 30+ leos at that time.

OK i put their container under a bright light and removed all the bark out and i saw very small mealworms!!! so i guess they were laying eggs after all! i seperated the babies from the adults...hopefully theres much more to come...now onto those damn crickets

Are those Stink Bugs!
I have seen them before, but never imagined they were the adult forms of mealworms.

do u really need 2 refridgerate the mealworms?cuz the only differnce i noticed was the unrefridgerated meal worms we more hyper.and i had mealworms lay eggs in the food bowl i didnt no wat they wre but i figured it was alright 2 keep them in there.wen they hatched my tree frog was hogging all of them.(i think they should sell the bettles)

the only reason ud put them in the fridge is to slow the process of the mealworm turning into a beetle...if u wanted to extend the life of the mealworm..i think its kind of cruel..but then again..theyre just bugs lol i keep mine in a huge container under my bed..the beetles are in a seperate container along with their tiny babies
