Great looking rosy I love the colors. I read can be biters? prone to bite?
How do you find the tempermeant in yours?

My two are really good when they're out of the cage. They sometimes look like they might bite when I'm messing around in the cage, but I think that that is only because they associate my hand in the cage with being fed. If you're worried about bites, you can put them in a separate container for feeding, this way they won't make that association.

They are definately great pets. All of the one's I've handled have been very docile. I think that many bites can be avoided. Don't surprise them, if grabbed suddenly, some will bite. Once they realize that it's just you, they calm down. I try to give mine a bit of warning to avoid this. All the ones that I've had extensive contact with are coastals, so I don't know if this is true for desert and mexican subspecies. Rosies also have individual personalities. If you get yours from a private breeder, the breeder is often more than willing help you select a mellow animal.

Thanks, Yes I intend to go to a breeder. I have never seen one in a pet store anyway but was planning to go to a breeder.
I plan on a male since read they stay smaller than females and was planning on a 20 gallon long tank .
I know there are several area types like you mentioned and like the type you have there in the pic as I prefer the lighter ones. So looking into the types.
Thanks again.
