HELP IDENTIFY!!

Keywords: unknown centipede spider insect strange

Please help us identify this insect. It looks like a centipede with long spider like legs. It is beige with black lines along the legs and back...HELP

it's a house centipede, Scutigera coleoptrata. not dangerous

Definitely a scutigeromorph. The legs are shorter at the front and longer at the back, so they don't interfere with each other as the animal runs (quickly!).

Yes I've seen those around where I am too, but only in the past few years. I am in New England and heard that they're mostly found south, but are now moving north. I think they're wicked cool! I have mostly seen them in basements and garage type atmosphere's. I think they like mosture. My sister finds them all the time in her very wet basement, it gets flooded all the time when it rains hard.
Does anyone know if they bite like a centepede? They HURT!

From what I've read they are capable of biting, but some say their fangs are too small to penetrate human skin. Secondly, they are shy, & would rather run & hide, so chance of being bit are slim, unless they were to be pinched, trapped, or mishandled.
