Smooth Coat is the dominant gene, Long Coat is the recessive gene. So your smooth coats are the genes Ss or Sl...which a smooth with the recessive long coat gene. However, to produce a long coat you can only have Ll.
Their Father is a long coat (Ll) and the Mother is a smooth coat, so she must of had the recessive long coat gene (Sl)...together they had the probability of producing smooth coats with recessive long coat genes, or long coats...hence Baron is a long and Stuart is a Smooth.
