I was just wondering....I had my dwarf for about a month and hes all healthy and such, but is there any easy way to get him comfortable with you handling him. My caimen is getting a little bigger and I was wondering how far back there head can come back on its body before it nips you? He got me when he was little, but I've been more cautious lately. I saw in some of your other pics holding the bigger of yours and it doesnt seem as bad as when I'm trying to grab my dwarf punk by the back of the head/neck.

if you have the time to hold them everyday they will settle down once they realize your not a threat with my dwarf when i first got her she got me as long as you dont hold him on the lower part of there neck you will be find bot watch it they are super fast. when i grab the big one it isnt fun at all it takes two of us.

Thats cool thanks man. The caimen I have "Gus" is actually growing fairly fast. He's gotten a couple of inches longer since the first picks I posted. He definitly has gotten thicker. How big did yours dwarfs get in the first year? This is a new expirience, but I've had spiney softshells for about 6-7 years and they are pretty hard to keep in you dont know what you are doing. Can you put a hardshell turtle in with the caimen? I've been thinking about it. Later.

right now I'm raising 2 small turtles to put in the tank. Right now there to small. A red ear and florida red belly. How big did you caimen get the first year? How long was it before he started eating infront of you?
