This is my Sidney. He was 6.5 years old. I had to have him put to sleep yesterday. He had a tumor growing off of his liver. It had grown to the size of a softball. He fought his illness for almost 6 months, but his little body was getting weak. He was the best cat, always purring and there for everyone in the house. My previous cat, Grayson, Sidney's companion, was put to sleep about 3 years ago at age 6. He had squarmous cell carcenoma (a tumor growing though the middle of his tongue). I only have one cat now and I worry about him now.
Thanks for the kind words for my cat TruffleGirl. That's a great photo of Sidney. It must have been a difficult time for your family and for Sidney in Sidney's last months. So sorry to hear that you had to put your other cat to sleep three years ago. Nevertheless, the joy of having pets and the good life you give to them far out weight any unpleasant eventuality.
