I would ditch the repti bark, as that stuff is crap... Give him some nice deep dirt, as he will instinctively dig burrows in it... Ask around on the monitor forum for other people's opinions on what makes the best substrate for argus monitors... I am sure they will agree that all of the pre packaged reptile substrates are worthless..
