looks more like an eastern garter snake, not a ribbon...ribbons don't have checker patterns like that.

That was the main reason I posted this is becuase I need an idetification. I was reading up and I believed it to be an Eastern Garter as well, but the herpitoligist at the expo swore up and down it was a ribbon.

Well, makes ya wonder about the seller... It does look lika an eastern garter, and by the size and thinness, I am guessing it is a male also, females tend to be thicker and stockier.
