Hi Charlene if this is the picture you are talking about it is to dark and at a bad angle to really give you an answer, that being said there does seem to be a bulge down there which would point to being a female... If you still have the molt give it a lite mist to make it a little pliable and take a look at the inside in between the top set of book lungs and if there is a flap there you have a female... I will try a get a picture up of a female Brachypelma species to see if that will help you figure out the sex, I don't have a female smithi but do have a few other female Brachypelma's so I will probably post one of my emilia and if that doesn't help try to get a clearer shot of the underside and I will see what I can do... Thanks for replying. the picture i was acutally refering too is titled "upside down" . i'm still an amature to keeping tarantulas, and beautiful creatures like these are illegeal in the country i'm in, so there's not much people i can go to for advise. i hope more experienced T keepers like u will be able to give me good tips on T's.
