some wc chams do work on the bottom or by the glas.a good idea is to use more plants, so they can hide. I could also be the heat, mabe the temps i to high!?

I'd really recommend you change your setup. Your cage really should be a screened enclosure (glass is very stressful for a number of reasons and can be a health problem), you shouldn't have a water bowl (chameleons don't recognize standing water as a drinking source) and I can't tell about what plants and lights you have but you should look into those and make sure you have that correct as well.
