I feel like i'm near satisfied with the way this tank has turned out so far, Plants are Finally growing, My toads are happy. My newt still has quite the appetite, and I have amazingly better water conditions.

Thanks, and yes i have encountered some problems with the filter. I have a Tetra Whisper In-tank 10i filter and a 20i in there, which with both i have had my fair share of problems with. One problem in particular was that i kept losing power to it. The impeller didn't seem to be pulling the water through as well as it did when i first got the filter. The problem is kind of an annoying fix. The way the water pump is set underneath the plastic body of the filter leaves it vulnerable to getting clogged, and blocked up. If you aren't careful and dilligent about checking it, you could get quite an annoying grinding noise from it, and eventually if left like that, it could burn out. I had to crack open the bottom and then use aquarium sealant to fix it in my tank but now it works great, and gives a nice effect in the tank, i used the 10i filter for a waterfall effect on the rocks built up on the left side of the tank. The filter is pretty much hidden but its there. I would suggest that if you wanted to get a really good filtration system for your frogs, try the Zoo Med Canister filter. Its like a mini canister filter and is relatively cheap. I feel it was worth it, in my tank it gives amazing filtration. Another problem i encountered is that my newt loves to crawl back behind the 20i in tank filter, so i never get to see him unless he comes out to eat or soak up some UV's

You shouldn't be keeping Frogs and newts together. It can be a disaster if the frogs decide one day to eat them.
