LOL not so far...

Please visit the caecilian forum under the amphibians section of the kingsnake.com forums for lots of information about their care.

I am more worried about it climbing out of the tank, have sealed lots of small gaps with tin foil.

Okay going to check out the forum. I allways thought they were like salamanders needed it cool, damp but not all water or would drown.
I know the sirens are aquatic for years thought these werent.
Not much info out on them though. Even unusual herp dealers rarely carry them.

Sometimes it's just not that hard!

I stumbled across this one at my local aquarium store, offered as a "rubber eel". I asked and they said it is an item on their regular order list, they get one every couple of months and sell it in a couple of weeks.

So maybe ask your fish dealer if they can order you one- of course I have no true idea what species it is.

I have a book from Amazon.com on its way that I ordered yesterday get its the Encyclopedia of Amphibians.
I hope to read about them there. I know the info on them is limited .I dont know where I got the idea they would drown in water. I keep different types of tree frogs (mostly Asian and Amazon) but when your into any type of amphibian you usually become interested in them all.
The only aquatic amphibian I have kept have been dwarf sirens. You have sparked an interest in Caecilians plus I like to read which is why I ordered the book.
thanks for the info

Likely a Linnaeus' caecilian!

BTW it is now Aug 2008 and this caecilian is still alive and doing well, I've had it over 3 years. It's favorite food seems to be sinking shrimp pellets.
