Got this one out..I think it's a southeastern as I don't see a wide row of scales under the tail...

I teased it out of the crack with a twig, was actually surprised I could hold onto it.

I went to release it today, and there was an obvious male in the same crack- I tried to catch that one the same way but it did escape!

Yes I am suprised you were able to hold on to it. They are lightning. I love their look as babies but after 2 to 3 years old they become drab.

hello. i just caught one of these guys just a few weeks ago. im not sure what he or she is. what is the name of his type? i just moved to nc, from pa. and up in pa i never saw a skink or lizard like this...(only in the toys that i used to have as a child) lol. thank you!

It's a skink- we have three around here that are very similar- the Five Line has a line of wide scales under the tail, the Southeastern has only multiple small same size scales, and the Broadhead which also has the wide row of scales, not sure how to tell it from a 5 Line

I was born and raised in Florida, catching lizards all my life, and I've (that I remember) never caught one of these guys. Just the regulars.
