kimo's custom cage

I like the cage. I was thinking of lighting/heating with a 40 watt bulb in a cage. Have you had any problems with the bulb in the cage and what size watt do you use?

I use a regular 60 watt light bulb. The combination of the florescent and regular light bulb keeps it nice and warm. If it gets too warm I turn off the 60 watt. At night i use a red 50 watt heat bulb on cool nights. I have had no problems at all...

Thanks for the info. I find incandescent bulb in the enclosure heats it like nothing other.
I am going to use a bulb guard since going to use 60 watts but in truth I dont know anyone that has ever had their snake burnt by inside incandescent bulb.
My smaller enclosure going to use 40 watts so wont use the bulb guard.
