Great looking cages real nice. I read that bulbs inside the cage are the best for heating if cage is big enough like yours are.
Have you had any problems with the bulbs actually in the cage?
I know there are mixed feelings on that.
Thanks

I always use bulbs inside the cages. It's probably more adviceable to use somekind of guard-box around the bulbs, wich I added a few days ago, to prevent the snakes from getting burned (it sort of looks like a small bird-cage thats surrounds each bulb).
I'll post a picture of it as soon as I can..

I like to put the bulbs inside the cage because it keeps the temperature at a level that is easy to control during the winter. I live in Denmark, and it can get really cold here sometimes, so a bulb that's placed outside the cage usually doesn't do the trick, if the temperature is ment to have a cooler end that is not TOO cold for the animals.

Thanks for the info. I agree nothing heats up air as nicely as an incandescent bulb.
In roomy cages you can still have a cool, warm area if bulb placed on one side. I love your cages very nice.

Im glad I saw this talk. I just got my first Ball Python 6 days ago and for me heating his tank is a big thing with me. Was worried about lights in the tank as he can reach the top of the tank, and didnt want him getting burned by the light. Im good with wood & I will have to make something like this for Jake as he is an avid climber. If anyone has some tips for me on tanks or his care please feel free to drop me an email. :-)
