ahh!!! Cedar is EXTREMELY toxic to reptiles!!! I would definately choose another type of wood, as your animals will most likely end up dead, or with severe neurological damage. Look it up on the internet, and you will find it is toxic, and should be avoided at all costs. Good luck, just trying to help you(your animals) out.

Thanks for your concern Odatriad.
But from what I understand, cedar bedding is toxic and should never be used. A outdoor enclosure should be alright being that it is in the open air but and indoor enclosure made of cedar boards should never be done because it would be in a confind place where the toxins can build up. As a precaution I am going to put a couple coats of a non toxic polyerathane called Hydrocote to seal it. Thanks again for your reponse.

I agree with Odatriad, cedar should not be used at all for caging or bedding, if you really wanted to prevent your turtles from harm, you wouldn't use cedar period.
