Bothrops nummifer (Jumping Pit Viper). These come in quite an array of different color morphs as well.

That's crazy. There's nothing at all that would stop me from thinking that's a Nerodia. Glad they're not from the U.S. That would be extremely confusing.

Sorry, this can't be a Jumping Viper nor any other kind of crotaline. The smooth dorsal scales and the rounded snout prevent such a diagnosis. Furthermore, the head scales of this snake seem to be enlarged and no Viper with such a character is living in the considered area. The protruding, up-turned eye would indicate a water-dwelling colubrid that, incidentally, could not be a Nerodia because of the vertical pupil.
