That is cool! I was wondering how he is as a pet? I have caught some wild Desert Monitors while in the Middle East and they put up a nice fight. They were wild though. By the way very nice little guy!

Well, they are a little flighty and they don't like to be approached quickly. They do tale whip but they don't threaten to bite, and they are very food aggressive. What were the wild ones like?

I love these guys in captivity! They look so good and I want one, I think it is my next monitor to get. I chased down quite a few while I was in the Middle East. They were very mean but would also try to dart to open holes or burrows in the ground once they saw you. I always saw them in the open. I never saw on or in a wadi (dry river bed) or anything like that. That seems to be were a lot of life in the Sonora Desert goes to keep cool, retreat, or just hang out. I even seen two that people killed because they were so mean and the people were scared. Ignorant people screwing with a large lizard and wonder why it is trying to bite, then kill it! I was vary mad about this and couldn't even look at the people that did it, I was discusted! They are very weathered looking in the wild when they have some age to them. The young ones still maintained some color. But even my face was cracked very badly from sun, wind, and dirt. I spent 2, 2 month bits there. From Jordan, Kuwait, U.A.E, Bahrain (island), Yemen, Saudi Arabia, and Muscat. Have fun and nice guy you got there. One more thing if you don't mind me asking. Who did you get him from? My e-mail is on my profile if you prefer to use that. Thanks!
