Thank for the Compliment. He is a Savu python, Boidea Liasis Mackloti Savuensis. They only come from Savu Island, a very small and dry island in eastern Nusa Tenggara - Indonesia.
They are very defensive, making mostly closed mouth strikes, inside there territory. Once out they are puppies, but will throw several incrediably tight coils, for their size, around your wrist. It really does help to have a third hand to get them back in their cage. They are easy to care for - the correct temperature range and a substrate they can burrow in. In my limited experience I do not consider them a beginners snake because of their initial defensiveness when you hold or work around them.
