Do you put a top on the aquarium when u incubate?I was gonna make an incubator out of a cooler but this looks soo much simpler and cheaper.Do you just set the tubs on the surface of the water without a rack?
Thanks

The tupperware container is setting on four bricks, two on each side (two high).
I kept the lid on during the incubation period, I just took the lid off for this picture. Every few days I'd open it up and fan it so any gasses wouldn't build up in their from the eggs.
That is a critter cage aquarium, so it came with a screen top, I put that top on, then layed a couple extra large tupperware lids on top of the screen and then layed a folded towel on top of that. That was all just to keep the water from evaporating so quickly and to keep the temperature inside more constant.
Since the aquarium wasn't made for water, but critters, I didn't trust it, so I left it sitting in the bathtub in our guest bathtub (the wife's a saint). It pays to buy a good quality aquarium heater because it has lower tolerances so the temperatures are more consistant. With python eggs you need a very constant temperature. Good luck and keep herpin'!
