he's cute, what size enclosure do you keep him in?

well... he's temporarily in a 55 gallon, but that is only until I can either save up enough to buy a big cage or build one of my own... do you have any carpet pythons?

Well carpets are great pythons. They feed very easily on frozen/thawed but can be slightly more aggressive than ball pythons and get larger. Some carpets like the Irian Jaya stay smaller so if you don't want to get a huge snake, they shouldn't get more than 4 or 5 ft... Let me know if you have any other questions about the carpets, I have 6 right now that are all different sizes and plan to get more...

Thanks for the info. It always helps to know what the owners think of their snakes. As long as the snake stays under 7 feet that is fine, if you had a 6 ft. snake about how big does their enclosure need to be and do they hibernate? thanks!

yeah, I love my snakes. carpet pythons are my favorite of any snake really and as far as a correct size enclosure for a 6 ft. snake greatly depends on what species it is. For a 6 ft. carpet, you'd need at least a 40 gallon breeder or slightly larger if you could manage it. please let me know if you have any other questions...

I can manage at least a 40, thank you so much for the info. I will ask you if I have any more questions, your snake is georgous- is that how you spell it?

Thanks for all the great comments and good luck with whichever snake you go with... if you get a carpet and it's a little nippy, don't get discouraged, they tame down very quickly (normally) with just attention and handling...

Thanks again, I've narrowed it down to a ball, a carpet, and a hognose, as soon as I can save up enough I will get one.
