Do you have her housed with a mate? How long where the eggs in the water?

No mate. I've had her since a hatchling back in '96. Since she does the "water dance" and is over 5', I've assumed she was a he (until today). Obviously the eggs are infertile, so I have removed them.

Wow, I knew turtles would lay infertile eggs, I didnt know crocodilians would to. Well its good to know shes healthy and doing what she would be doing in the wild, and that if you ever wanted she could reproduce..

I'm not sure how many gallons, but its about 7' long and about 5' wide - maybe about 2.5' deep. It was the largest one they sold at a local garden shop.

Very nice :) at lest you know what your doing for a fact now regards to space ect as females are way smaller than males aren't they ?.So now you can plan ahead with no problem :).

I thought that as well, but up until she laid the eggs I was convinced she was a he. She is a pro with the ultrasonic "water dance" and is over 5' and counting (I was under the impression that female specs rarely exceeded 4')

I thought most females stay under or around the 4ft mark i know you can get the odd giant girl.wow over 5ft i'd say you have one of the big girls then :).

I was REAL surprised finding a clutch of eggs. I had no doubt it was a male, just seems real masculine. I was relieved that her lack of appetite for several weeks and "bloated condition" was not gasses building up from a blockage! Thanx for your comments. Rob

Thanks,
I removed the eggs that same day (infertile) and she was not very happy about that. I froze about 5 of them - they are big and heavy.
