I lot of people jumped all over me saying you can't keep rats on wire. So what I did was take a piece of plastic, about 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 foot and put it in the cage if they wanted to get off the wire (which is really think btw). You know what happened ? Nothing. they hardly ever used it.I just put in all new rats about three weeks ago and I've pulled 60 pregnant females so far. I have no idea what your comments mean - but tree huggers need not apply !

This is kinda old, but whoever said you can't raise rats on wire is a MORON. I have raised most of my feeders (rats, mice, rabbits, quail & chickens) on wire with ZERO problems in over 10 years.
