nice tank. tho u might wanna wathc it with those fake plants. ur beardie might tryu to eat em. and Thamnophis_radix. its not as big a deal using sand for babies. the(comon) rule for bowel impaction is that nothing you give your beardie should be bigger thenthe width between its eyes. thats the rule for babies ive learned. i have a young beardie (8 months old or so) and he will gladly pounce a grasshopper thats easly 1/3 his seize. also i use red dirt in his tank(Australian look) and he will sometimes eat it but theres never any trouble. jest make sure you watch out with their heating. they are very heat sensitive and do not do well when its cold. you can tell when their unhappy by their colors. a happy beardy will show its full colors and have a white(usually) underbelly. an unhappy beardie will tend to be darker or brown.. or in some cases black. also their underbellies will be striped black. a beardie with bowel impaction will shut its eyes tightly and stretch its legs stright out behind it as if in a great amount of pain. in that case get a bag of warm water(test the temp with ur hand. if it dosnt burn or heat your hand a little more then its supposed to its o.k.) and set him on it. or put your beardie in a warm(same heat testing) bowl of water. that will cause him to empty his bowls and free him of his impaction. and with feeding... i usually catch wild grass hoppers and locust (VERY good for him.loaded with vitamins) and feed him a leaf of greens about his seize every day. he will usually eat two to three locusts (each one 1/3 his seize roughly). and PLEASE! DONT FORGET HIS UVB LIGHT! these are jest ideas ive collected with my experience raising beardies. others may dissagree, but you should see what ur beardi likes and base ur decisions around that. good luck with that man. if u have any other questions feel free to e-mail me.

I've been thinking of buying some berdies and I have a few questions I'd like to ask you. I've read that you shouldn't use sand for baby or juvenile beardies as they can be clumsy eaters and that they're very curious and like to taste everything and can ingest the sand and become impacted. I was wondering since you've had experience with them if you have used sand when there young or used somthing else, if you used sand did they ever eat it? Can you please e-mail me with information
thnx, T.radix
