Thanks,
Daisy is 3 1/2 years old and 11' 4" long. She is supposedly from the Island of Bali, where the Retics don't get as large as the norm. I was told she'll probably grow to around 15'.
This was her first swim and she did fine. It's not hard to retrieve them, they don't go too fast, and they don't appear to be afraid.
The last time I had her out by the pool she went in on her own and swam around!

I get asked that question alot. I am careful not to let my snakes swim after I've just added chlorine, and especially Muriatic Acid. The usual pool chemical treatment is 1 gallon Chlorine per week, and 1/4 gallon Muriatic Acid per week, added at the same time. Those are " Ideal " conditions.
I wait at least 48 hours for the chemicals to dissipate, before I let the Snakes swim. They don't swim alot either, maybe twice a week for 5 minutes max each time, in warm weather.
If they swam alot more than that, then maybe the chems would cause problems. But what about us? Our babies
( human ) are in the pools way more than that?
I see now, after I've let them swim as much as they have, that they try to go in when they can. I have to pull them away when the time isn't right, and I'm just weeding out there with them. They go for the pool all the time now. I feel so bad pulling them away.
I also watched both my Burms take big drinks from the pool water too. I kept a Hawk's eye on them for three days after that,, no problems.
