Keywords: Shingleback Lizard - tick

This Australian Shingleback Lizard, photographed in the wild, has picked up ticks. One is quite obvious but there is another, side on - to the left, which is harder to see. It is quite common for this species to have ticks around their neck and and "armpit" areas. Although they are very stocky, robust lizards, it is possible that enough ticks could, in time, kill them. Most reptile enthusiasts will remove the ticks from any Shinglebacks they come accross. Please feel free to check out the rest of my Australian reptile photos and post a comment if you wish. Regards, Frilly.
