Thats a beautiful diamond python. I've been looking at your other photos and I can see that you have experiance with carpet pythons, I was thinking about getting a jungle carpet python but I'm not ready for anything too big yet. I've read on various websites that they can get 5-7ft, other say they dont get more than 4-5, maybe 6ft. If I get one it will most likely be a male, because they tend to be smaller than females. I was wondering if you could help me out as to how big the actually get. Thanks

Well, I hate to be so vague, but I've heard lots of different things as well. The male diamond cross in this picture is only this big because of his diamond bloodline. Male jungles should get between 5-6 ft. depending on how you feed them. I've heard most males will stop at about 5 ft but I've also heard of them getting to 7 ft. I would assume that an average male jungle that isn't fed to grow quickly should grow to about 6 ft...

Oh well, thanks for the help anyway. I guess I'll do some more reading and see if I can find anything else. Worst that happens is he gets a foot or two bigger than I anticipated. If I do decide to get one it wont be for a while. I might be getting a garter snake in the spring, definitly getting a spotted python in the summer. My mom keeps asking why I want more when I already have three. I laugh every time she asks that question.

my parents used to ask the same thing but they don't even try anymore... with the carpets, they're a thinner python so an extra foot or so really shouldn't make too much of a difference...
