hamster, what makes you think that beardie looks stressed?? the tank is obviously big enough and the beardie looks just fine... maybe before you try telling people how they arent taking care of their animal and telling them its stressed out because of whatever, like you do to everyone, maybe try asking questions about the diet and temp and give suggestions or opinions on your thoughts... you really might offend some people saying their animal is not happy or being properly cared for... and thats not two basking lights, its a basking and a uv light (im pretty sure)... if you were concerned, and thought you were qualified to tell people what to do with their animals, you should be concerned about no uv light...

well first off "Lovemylizards" im posting witch should show i am concerned enough about the wellfair of his bearded dragon (as i am with all other pictures i post on) and secondly if you knew [bleep] about beardies you could tell almost imediatly how stressed they are by looking under their throat for black striping as such this beardie did have. and as it turned out i was right about him being a little stressed on dietary reasons. also i made the comment about his tank being to small because it didnt look like that beardie had much room to move in. also if you could read i posted at the end that he had a great looking beardie witch he dose indeed have. and you said "as i do with everyone" and in more then half of my postings i have givin positive remarks about how great their animals are. i rarly post a rating below 5 as i do not wish to offend people. if i feel it was less then a four i dont even post jest to not hurt anyones feelings. but if i do post it is only to offer advice. and after all what is the comment deal about if not for voicing my opinion? but hey you can look at it however you want... now i feel really [bleep]ty and i gotta do some work. regardless he has an excellent looking dragon.

im sorry to make you feel bad... i would just be very offended if you wrote a comment saying "hey your beardie is stressed out. you need to check his temps and make sure your feeding him right" when you could say "hey what temps do you keep your beardie in and what are you feeding him? he looks like he might be a little stressed...?" if you want to offer advice, then offer advice... dont state things like you really know whats going on... and i do know about beardies... i have many with white bellies... and a little black stripes doesnt necessarily mean "stressed"... they might be a little uncomfortable, but one that is really unhappy will be very dark and have more than a little black striping... although ztaylor i might suggest a white backround on the back and sides of the cage... and desert white repti sand... i keep my babies in semi-clear tupperwares with copy paper taped to the outsides... they love the light that reflects off the white and the sand... my babies glow when i put them in there... when it comes to having a nice looking cage or a nice looking and happy dragon, i choose the dragon...

my beardie is pretty happy. he is calm and just mostly observes. he eats like crazy. i feed him kale, crickets, mealworms, spinach squash and rarely fruit for a treat. his cage is cleaned daily, i dust his food every other day. His basking site is kept at about 95. he has 12 hours with the lights on and 12 off. i get him out as much as i can and he loves it.i am working on building a cage for him that will measure 6 feet by 30 in deep by 2 feet tall. thanks for all your opinions and comments. i enjoy my animals very much and take good care of them.

im building the cage out of plywood. not the cheap kind. the expensive kind that will look good. the front will be made of plexi glass and it will slide open. other then that ill just put whatever goes with it and looks good

I don't at all want to discourage you from the cage your building, but using plexiglass for the front might lead to a really "bad" looking cage fairly quickly. That stuff gets scratched up so easily and with a full size beardie scratching on it, it won't stay clear for long... sorry, I just want to make sure you have everything considered before the money and time you'll invest into it...
