Today was cage cleaning day, and I took the opportunity to upgrade a few things in the cage. She loves the Rep-Tile hide that I added a few weeks ago, so I've added two more of these hides. One is propped against her cool side water dish. The other is in front of her log. I added more Repti-Bark under the cool side water dish because she likes to burrow behind the dish. In the past, I've noticed this bark getting damp, so a deeper layer will allow more drainage in the spot where she sometimes hides. I've added a branch. I might have to move this branch later because it might get in the way of my changing the warm side water dish, but I like the look right now. I put another tile inside her hollow log on one side to reduce the open space there. I put some cypress mulch inside the other side for the same reason. I've put cypress mulch in some areas and bark in others in hopes of getting better humidity. I also have moss scattered in a couple of places around the cage. She's still investigating everything. I'm sure that there will be a little stress with the change, but I knew that I wouldn't get everything back exactly as it was. I'm hoping that the additional hides will be an improvement that will offset the stress of change.
