Elvis under his bowl

My California Kingsnake spends about ninety percent of his time hiding under this bowl. Before I purchased him, he was shedding, and the pet store didn't have a big enough bowl for him to soak. I suggested that they get a dog water bowl for him, and they grabbed their cheapest. When I bought him, they threw in the water dish. From the time that I brought him home, he's liked being under that bowl. I've halfway wanted to remove it because it looks funny in the cage, but I'll leave it as long as he likes it. He's grown a little in my care, and he really doesn't fit underneath anymore. He doesn't seem to care and still likes to crawl underneath and lift the bowl on his back if he must.
