Keywords: Bumble Bee
The European Bumble Bee, a potential problem for Australia. This introduced species is so far only found in Tasmania, a large island to the south of the mainland. It can forage earlier than native bees, thus reducing the pollen available to other bees and birds. It is also capable of spreading a noxious weed. Even though it looks large and friendly, it can be somewhat aggressive and is capable of repeated stinging!
