I would put a background on it he will feel more secure to . Like a desert background or even solid white or cream color poster board .
the set up itself looks fanatstic .

Your set up looks good, but where is the water dish? Mine soak in their water almost every day. Mine also don't like to be closed in, they like to see what is going on. I don't have a background on any of my 4 beardie tanks.

Thanks for being concerned about the water dish. Rocco REFUSES to drink out of a dish so he gets baths all the time. It's actually quite funny bc I don't think he knows he's a desert lizard. Anytime I let him out of the cage to clean it or to let him bask in the real sunlight, he ALWAYS jumps into my turtles 40b tank and goes swimming! He puts him head under the water and eats the goldfish. Then when I take him out he gets really mad and puffs out. Thanks again tho!

You let him go in your turtles tank? Thats not good, I dont know much about turtles, but especially because he goes and eats out of the water, he might get a disease or something your turtle might have. Eating gold fish isnt good either, there cartelige is hard for them to digest, and fish may have parasites as well.

Sorry it has taken me so long to answer back. Once I noticed that Rocco was swimming in the tank and going after rosys I asked a vet if that was dangerous for him. The vet said that goldfish are not normally found in the beardies natural habitat (well, duh I thought) but if he was eating them and liking them, it wouldn't be a problem. I also asked about the water and the vet said as long as the water was clean, it was also not a problem. I assure you. My turtle tank is probably the cleanest tank you will ever see. I have a 40b with one small map turtle with 2 fluval 204. I do understand your concern but I talked to a vet once this behavior started. I am going to continue with what works for my beardie and I. Thanks!
