Hi, a friend recently discovered a white dove like yours hanging around a creek by a Home Depot in New Jersey. The bird is gaining his confidence. Will this bird survive the cold and snoy weather there this winter. It is rare to see a dove like this there. What shpould he feed it? Should he leave the bird alone? There is no other doves in the area.
Any info. would be apppreciated. My email is penni621@aol.com
Thanx, Donna

I just want to say, even if this has already been answered, that if this bird is indeed a ringneck dove (which I assume it is, unless it's an albino mourning dove) it won't survive in the cold. Ringneck doves are domesticated animals and can't find food or even survive in the wild. That's why they're not released at weddings, they get lost and die. They're not spectacular fliers most of the time either. I want to say this just in case anyone wandering needs to know.
