Whoa, Oweni! Where did you get that guy??? Someone had posted a pic of an Oweni about a month ago maybe. Please tell me you are breeding them!!

Breeding is definitely in the plans. They are incredible chameleons and I have to say that everything me and my husband have read about them is way off. They are not docile but they are certainly sedentary and very calm when allowed to be in a big, heavily planted enclosure with plenty of water and food.

He is gorgeous! I had hoped to snag him from Nick when I saw the pics but was glad to hear they were spoken for by you and Ivan. I hope to see more pics of him and hear about your observations about this species/individual. Out of curiousity, he almost seems to have an aggressive, or rather highly defensive attitude. Are these photos of him gaping just a responce to your proximity? What is his temperment like? Best of luck with him, he's a jem!

I can't speak for my other half as he is the one that spends a LOT of time with them but so far the male seems to be quite calm. We are keeping a nice little journal every few days to document his behavior the best we can individualy and as a colony if we get there and so far all we have noticed is completely opposite of what we have read about the species. My guess is that the space provided for them needs to be quite ample as well as lots and lots of vegetation in the enclosure. But it is Ivan that knows all the details so I am sorry I can't be of much more help.
