always wanted to do this. had a couple of problems lights, cords, how to open and ventuiate. how did u get around all that

You could always hide the cords under the carpet. Hollow out one of the legs of the table and thread your wires through it and make a little incision in the carpet to hide the wires. For heat I would lay some heat tape between two pieces of glass. That way it wont burn the wood or the snake. And for light, make the top almost all glass. Make the top kind of like a frame that way it can be your door. As for ventilation, either drill holes in the sides or cut holes in the sides and use wire mesh. Ive never built it before but I have built several of them myself. Im just throwing out some ideas I hope they are useful.
