Who says snakes can't be kept in vivariums? This is the set up I have for my brand new(as of the posting of this photo) Colombian Rainbow Boa. It's a 40 gallon breeder aquarium. The substrate consists of Zoomed's EcoEarth topped with sphagnum moss. All other decorative items in the picture are not real, they are plastic. To the right is the hide log and water dish. The plastic silk plant is a Philodendron(at least according to the ESU Reptile tag). The branch to the right is intended to allow the boa to climb as well as bask.(Colombian rainbows are semi-arboreal, although mine seems to never use this branch) As for the heating devices, to the left of the picture(not visible in this version enhanced to fit on the site) is a Heat pad stuck to the side of the cage. A 75 watt day bulb(wattage likely to be changed soon) is lighting up the cage.

NOTE-Heat pad has now been moved under one side of the tank, and the lights have been removed. Lights apparently cause stress to rainbow boas.
