The coloration is beautiful, a nice olive. He/she could be a 100% spec or spec & brown. How well was she fed previously? He/she looks mature in the face and has adult color vs juvie stripes. But seems to be a bit slim (in the base of tail and legs ecspecially) for 38". Nonetheless it is a very nice caiman.

I think s/he was underfed - the kid said he was feeding her a med/large rat once a week!! I've been doing some research & plan on upping the feedings to 3x week, and no live prey items.

Is this your first caiman/crocodilian? If so research, research and ask questions??? I have almost 10yrs hands on w/caiman & gators, and am still a rookie who asks plenty of questions.

Thanks!!! We've been researching for quite awhile, and will continue to do so. I LOVE 2pacs old winter home. I'd like to do something similar, do you have plans that you followed? Or are you like my hubby & just follow your mental image as you go?
