looks like an incredible northern blacktail rattlesnake. where roughly did you find this snake? seems like there are a lot of variations in the color of the blacktails, that one in particular is very nice.

A friend of mine took this photo on April 6, 2002. The snake was found at the Atlas Site, Hack Canyon, and I think it's Northern Arizona. The photographer, who lives in St. George, Utah, is out of town for a few days so I can't verify that right now.
