do you keep them in a pond or plastic tub?, im asking cause i wanted to dig a pond in my yard but i think they may tear the liner, any sugestions?

I tried building my own pond with liner before I moved to rubbermaid tubs because the snappers nails did rip through the liner. There may be others out the who have had success with liners but I recommend just going with a tub.
